Welcome

Whether you’re a couple seeking to repair your relationship or an individual navigating life’s challenges, I offer compassionate support to help you move toward healing and resilience.

Services

I offer in-person services at my office in Los Altos, CA, and telehealth services throughout California.

Couples

Relationships are at the heart of our lives, and they can also be where we feel the most hurt. If you and your partner are struggling with communication, trust, or navigating a difficult situation, couples therapy can help. In our work together, we’ll explore the patterns that keep you stuck and help you develop healthier ways of relating.

I work with couples who want to:

  • Break free from cycles of conflict and misunderstanding

  • Rebuild trust after a rupture or betrayal

  • Deepen emotional intimacy and connection

  • Build a solid foundation through premarital counseling

With training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) — one of the most researched and effective approaches for couples — I help partners break free from cycles of negativity and move toward stronger connection.

I am also trained in Discernment Counseling, a short-term, structured approach designed for couples where divorce is on the table for one partner. This process provides clarity and confidence in a direction for your relationship based on a deeper understanding of what has happened and both partners’ contributions to the problems.

Individuals

Life brings challenges that can feel overwhelming when faced alone. Whether you’re grieving a loss, moving through a major transition, or struggling with anxiety, depression, or trauma, therapy can provide a place to reflect, heal, and grow. Together, we’ll uncover the patterns that keep you stuck and strengthen your ability to meet life’s sorrows and challenges with resilience.

I work with individuals who want to:

  • Shift from reactivity to responsiveness in daily life

  • Develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others

  • Process grief and loss with support and understanding

  • Build resilience during times of transition and uncertainty

My approach integrates person-centered, existential, and attachment-based therapies, and is grounded in trauma-informed care. This means I create a safe and supportive environment where your experiences are honored, and healing can unfold at a pace that feels right for you.

About Me

I’m a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #155661), and my path into this work has been shaped by a lifelong belief that compassion and connection can lead to transformative change. Over the years, I’ve seen how—even in the midst of painful struggles or profound grief—people can strengthen their bonds, deepen their understanding, and move toward healing.

I specialize in supporting individuals and couples through relationship challenges, grief and loss, and major life transitions. In our work together, I offer a compassionate space where you can process what feels overwhelming, reconnect with your strengths, and move forward with greater hope and resilience.

My counseling experience includes working at Kara, a nonprofit grief support community; providing school-based counseling in elementary schools; and helping people of all ages facing anxiety, depression, and relationship struggles. My training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) includes continuing work under the supervision of Cornelius Sheehan, LCSW.

I earned my B.A. from Carleton College and my M.A. in Counseling from Palo Alto University. My training and background allow me to integrate evidence-based practices with a warm, relational approach that honors each client’s unique story.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your approach to therapy?
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your needs. I believe in the human capacity for healing and change, even in the face of deep sorrow and trauma. I draw from evidence-based practices while keeping our work rooted in empathy, trust, and respect for your unique story.

How long are sessions?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes for individual adults, 60 minutes for couples, and 45 minutes for children and teens. Extended sessions may be available upon request.

Do you take insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. However, I can provide you with a superbill—a receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. I recommend checking with your insurance provider about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

What are your fees?
My standard fee is $225 per 50-minute individual session (or 45 minutes for children and teens) and $250 per 60-minute couples session.

Do you offer in-person or online sessions?
Both. I see clients in person at my office in Los Altos and via secure telehealth anywhere in California.

How often will we meet?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and consistency. As therapy progresses, we may adjust the frequency together.

How long will I need therapy?
Therapy looks different for everyone. Some people come in for a few months to work through a specific challenge, while others find value in longer-term support. We’ll discuss what feels right for you and revisit your goals along the way.

What issues do you specialize in?
I specialize in working with couples and individuals on relationship challenges, grief and loss, trauma, and life transitions. With couples, I draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help partners move from reactivity in conflict to responsiveness with each other. I also offer Discernment Counseling for couples where divorce is on the table. With individuals, I integrate person-centered, existential, and attachment-based approaches.

Do you work with premarital couples?
Yes. I provide premarital counseling for couples of all backgrounds who want to set a strong foundation for lifelong commitment. We’ll explore communication, expectations, values, and ways to maintain connection through life’s inevitable ups and downs.

Do you see children and teens?
Yes. I work with children and teens experiencing grief, loss, life transitions, and trauma.
